Watertown Unified School District employees who are retiring at the end of the 2025-26 school year were honored at a special breakfast and recognition ceremony Friday morning, May 15. During the ceremony, each retiree was recognized for their time, dedication, and positive impact upon the district, and presented with a gift.
The 14 retiring staff members provided 357 years of combined service to the WUSD. The retirees are (seated) from left: Sue Pochop, 31 years; Lisa Clark, 27 years; Michelle Yelk, 34 years; (back row) Dennis Schwenkner, 10 years; Patricia Loftus, eight years; Mike Gross, 10 years; Pam Suski, 34 years; Lora Konz, 26 years; Wendy Davis, 26 years; Connie Held, 36 years; and Brad Clark, 32 years. Not pictured: Stephannie Gilbert-Crane, 23 years; Jean Heiden, 28 years; and Paul Minning, 32 years. 💙

The annual Art Walk organized by the Watertown Arts Council and the WUSD Art Department returns to downtown Watertown on Wednesday, May 27 from 4-6 p.m.! This fun, family-friendly event showcases student artwork from across the district, as well as professional pieces created by local artists, in dozens of storefronts downtown. In addition, community members are invited to "Chalk the Walk" by creating chalk art along Main Street sidewalks the day of the event.
