Riverside Middle School 7th graders wrapped up their first English Language Arts module — Identity in the Middle Ages — with a medieval feast fit for royalty!
Throughout this module, students explored the medieval social hierarchy, read stories of individuals from all levels of the hierarchy, and analyzed how their social status shaped identity and experiences. They also honed their narrative writing skills, using a full toolbox of literary elements and techniques to craft their own original medieval narrative stories as their End-of-Module Task.
To honor their hard work and creativity in this module, students gathered for a celebratory medieval feast! They enjoyed delicious food brought in by classmates and each designed their own coat of arms, a unique symbol of their interests, strengths, and personalities.
