On Friday, May 17, Sr. Kleine's Watertown High School Spanish Texts and Composition students traveled to Schurz Elementary School to read the children's stories they authored and illustrated to Sra. Dresser's and Mrs. Bethke's Dual Language Kindergarten students. The books were a final project for the class' Literatura Infantil (Children's Literacy) unit in which they studied the positive effects of reading to children, aspects and characteristics of children's literature, and read the famous children's story "El Principito" (The Little Prince). Both WHS and Schurz students greatly enjoyed each other's company!

It was a picture-perfect morning last Friday for the annual Douglas Dash at Douglas Elementary School. Throughout the morning, the seven different grades levels were each assigned a 25-minute time slot for their run. As each grade was running, another grade was outside to cheer them on!
