Fourth of July!
Our #WatertownWay Chapter of the National German Honor Society honored the service rendered by its graduating seniors with a Presentation of Thanks by newly-elected officers. Outgoing officers challenged their successors to continue building on the foundation that has been laid, and offered advice based on their experience. Outgoing Co-Chancellor Jackson Barta passed the figurative baton, in the form of a β€œMass,” or β€œKrug,” to newly-elected Chancellor Ava Ashenfelter. The β€œKrug” tradition began in 2021 with then outgoing Chancellor Elias Adrian’s charge to the membership. As a heavy object, it symbolizes the responsibility of leadership, not to be taken lightly. With a beautiful snow scene, it depicts the beauty and joy of exploring a new culture. Outgoing Vice-Chancellor Jillian Matamoros donated one of her German LPs to the organization, and helped procure a record player on which to play it. How awesome!
