Last Thursday, one of the 3rd grade music classes at Schurz Elementary School was fortunate to have a virtual Q&A time with Staff Sergeant William Samson! Tuba player Staff Sergeant Samson is a member of "The President's Own" United States Marine Band. Prior to the meeting, students learned about “The President’s Own” and watched various concert excerpts. The students were then able to ask Staff Sergeant Samson questions about what it is like to be a musician whose job is to play for White House events. Staff Sergeant Samson even made a deal with the students. If they send him a recording of “Hot Cross Buns” once they learn to play it on their recorders, he will send a recording of him playing “Hot Cross Buns” on his tuba in return. Staff Sergeant Samson encouraged our young musicians to work hard and persevere through the challenges of learning to play an instrument. A special "Thank You!" to Staff Sergeant Samson for providing our students this amazing experience! 💙💛 #WatertownWay

It's an exciting time for The V Formation, Endeavor's esports team, as they had their first practice last week! Our esports team is working to join the Wisconsin High School Esports Association to compete against other state teams, as well as the High School Esports League to be able to compete against teams across the nation within the next year. Coach Mr. Harms will be holding a seminar during the second trimester for any of our Endeavor students who want to learn STEM and 21st Century skills through esports. The team hopes to start scrimmages this spring! #WatertownWay #esports

As part of Lincoln STEM's PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) framework, students receive a fuzzy for showing they are respectful, responsible and resilient. Each class spent time at Lincoln Park on Wednesday as a reward for filling up their school-wide fuzzy jar! Great work, #WatertownWay students! 🤩
