This past weekend, a group of WHS students traveled to Minocqua and Eagle River, WI to learn about natural resources through outdoor education and Careers in Environmental Science. Students visited the Northwoods Wildlife Center in Minocqua where they learned about Wildlife Rehabilitation and Education and birds of prey! Students then continued to Eagle River where they stayed on campus at a natural resource school, Trees for Tomorrow (TFT). The students participated in cross-country skiing, map and compass orienteering, survival skills, wildlife signs and tracking, lake ecology, and radio telemetry.

WHS will be offering ACT prep courses in the areas of Science, English and Math on Saturdays in February. Students can sign up for an individual course for a fee of $12 per course OR students can sign up for all 3 courses for $30. Students interested in participating should sign up with the Bookkeeper, Mrs. Klinger, in the Front Entrance Office. The dates and times for each course are as follows:
2/3/24 - Science - 9 a.m. - 11 a.m.
2/10/24 - ELA and Reading - 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.
2/24/24 - Math - 9 a.m. - 11 a.m.

A friendly reminder that there is no school on Monday, January 15, 2024, due to a teacher work day!

Monday, January 8th was the first day of rotations for Mr. Gibson’s Health Observations class. 4 of the 5 days during the week, students get the opportunity to shadow medical professionals at the hospital and other local private practices.
