Grade 2/3 students at Lincoln STEM Elementary got in on the March Madness fun with their annual Math Fact Shoot-Out! The top students in each classroom went head-to-head against each other in the championship while their classmates cheered them on! The winners in each grade level won a basketball signed by their classmates! How fun! #WatertownWay

We were so fortunate to have author Mary Tellefson visit Lincoln STEM last week! She is a teacher and author who works with blind/visually-impaired children. She came to do a presentation and simulation workshop. Students wore blindfolds to see what it what it would be like to have a vision impairment, and also took turns being guides. Thank you, Ms. Tellefson!

Wednesday, March 16th was National Panda Day, and our #WatertownWay students and staff at Lincoln STEM celebrated all week in a BIG way! Panda research was done, panda books were read, panda artwork was created, and panda cupcakes were decorated and eaten! The whole school also participated in a panda trivia contest - with Mrs. Atkinsโ€™s class winning! It gets better - check this out! ๐Ÿ‘‰ The students participated in a Pennies for Pandas service project where students brought in their change all week to raise money to donate to the pandas at the National Zoo in Washington D.C. They raised an incredible $804.74 and for every $100.00 raised, a staff member got pied in the face Friday afternoon. Check out the Lincoln STEM Elementary School PTO Facebook page for a replay of all the pie throwing!
