Parent Update

Greetings WHS families,

As another week draws to a close, a quick check of the calendar suggests that the end of the second trimester is not that far off. Only four weeks remain between now and March 11. Please be sure to encourage your students to stay on top of their studies, projects, and preparation for assessments. Please keep in mind that we have a professional development day on Friday, February 18 and a teacher planning day on Monday, February 21. There is NO SCHOOL for WUSD students on these days.

Preparation for the March 16 Career Fair for all WHS students continues as do preparations for the March 8 statewide ACT for current 11th grade students. More information regarding ACT can be found below.

We are also starting to identify which classes will or will not run for next year based on student course requests. Some students may be called in to Student Services over the next several weeks to correct errors in their schedule requests or to select alternate courses. Our schedule is driven by student interest and if there is insufficient interest in a course, it will not run.

Have a great weekend and be sure to review the updates below for important information!

Sincerely,

Josh Kerr, Principal

Watertown High School

ACT Testing (11th Grade only)

  • WHS will be sending ACT updates via Skyward the week of February 21st in anticipation of the ACT exam at WHS on Tuesday, March 8th.  The ACT is an important statewide assessment that not only expands post secondary opportunities for your student but also provides important academic information WHS staff can utilize to better serve our students and community.  Please encourage your student to make the most of this opportunity by preparing for the ACT using their MyACT.org account and doing their very best on exam day.  Stay tuned for updates!

  • As a result, ALL 11th grade students will attend school on Tuesday, March 8, 2022. Students in grades 9, 10, and 12 will NOT have school on Tuesday, March 8, 2022.
