Watertown High School has announced the Top Ten Scholars for the 2024-2025 academic year. The selection was based on grade-point average weighted to account for the number of advanced classes taken. Congratulations to the following students:
Marissa Bischoff is the daughter of Daniel and Brenda Bischoff. Marissa has been a four-year member of INTERACT (Student Rotary), Cross Country, and Girls Basketball. She also has been a member of National Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society, HOSA - Future Health Professionals, and Girls Soccer. When not at WHS, Marissa can be found volunteering at The Marquardt helping with life enrichment and also working there as a Service Aide. She plans on attending Carroll University to obtain her Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
Scott Butzen is the son of Christy and Brian Butzen. He has been a four-year member of the WHS Music Program, Boys Swim Team, and Boys Tennis Team. He is also participating in National Honor Society, Tri-M Music Honor Society, Academic Decathlon, Model United Nations, and Mentoring this year. When not at WHS, Scott is active in Boy Scouts and is currently working at Main Street Café. Scott’s future plans include attending UW-Whitewater to study education.
Julian Byrne is the son of Amy and David Byrne. Julian has been a four-year member of Cross Country and Forensics. Julian has also been a part of National Honor Society, Tri-M Music Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society, Boys Swimming, Track and Field, and WHS Carolers. Outside of WHS, Julian has been a member of Boy Scouts and his church youth group. Julian is planning to attend St. Olaf College to study exercise science with the intent of becoming a Doctor of Physical Therapy.
Megan Doherty is the daughter of Kevin and Jean Doherty. Megan has been a four-year member of the Girls Basketball and Volleyball teams at WHS. She has also been a four-year member of FFA (currently Secretary) and Association of Business Students. Megan is also a three-year member of National Honor Society, Athletic Leadership Club, and Track and Field. She is also serving as Vice President of the Spanish Honor Society this year. When Megan is not at WHS, she can be found leading the 4-H Club as their President, serving as a member of the WIAA Student Athlete Leadership Team or refereeing youth basketball. Megan will be attending the University of Nebraska-Lincoln to study business analytics and Spanish.
Alyx Johnson is the daughter of Rod and Diana Johnson. Alyx has been a four-year member of FFA, currently serving as President. She has also participated in Varsity Girls Basketball and Varsity Softball the past three years. Alyx is also a member of National Honor Society and the WHS Athletic Leadership Club. She is currently working for the Johnson Family Farms and will be attending Butler University to study secondary math education and play softball.
Aubrey Keddington is the daughter of Holly and Richard Keddington. She has been involved in multiple activities while at WHS including Girls Swim, WHS Carolers, River City Rhapsody, WHS Musicals, and Athletic Leadership. Aubrey is also a member of National Honor Society (Secretary), Tri-M Music Honor Society (President), and National Art Honor Society. Aubrey is currently acting as President of the INTERACT (Student Rotary) and the Secretary of Ecology Club. Aubrey was also selected to participate in Badger Girls State this past summer. Aubrey is currently working as a head lifeguard and swim instructor and plans on attending UW-Madison to study Cellular Biology or Pre-Med.
Reggie Reimer is the son of Chad Reimer and Vicky Reimer. Reggie has been involved in the WHS Music Program for four years including Marching Band, Pep Band, Jazz Band and Solo & Ensemble. Reggie has also been a four-year member of the WHS Math Team. Reggie also enjoys being part of the Lac LaBelle Snowmobile Club. Reggie plans on studying actuarial science at UW-Madison next year.
Sara Rodriguez Machado is the daughter of Zoraida Machado and Cesar Machado. Sara has been associated with National Honor Society, Tri-M Music Honor Society, and the German Honor Society (Secretary). She has also been recognized for her score on the German National Exam and as an AP Scholar. When not at WHS, Sara is providing violin and piano lessons in addition to volunteering at a Bible study. After high school, Sara will be attending UW-Whitewater to obtain her BBA in Accounting as well as becoming a certified translator.
Morgan Sellnow is the daughter of Sabrina Dathan-Sellnow and Todd Sellnow. Morgan has been a four-year member of the Girls Soccer program. Morgan is also involved in Spanish Honor Society, National Honor Society, and HOSA-Future Health Professionals. She currently is working at Rose Garden and next year plans on attending UW-La Crosse to study biology.
William Wrolstad is the son of Kristin Wrolstad and Jeremy Wrolstad. William has been a part of SkillsUSA as a member, an officer, and as the head of electrical engineering on the solar car. He has also been a member of Show Choir, WHS Carolers, WHS Musical, Academic Decathlon, National Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society, and INTERACT (Student Rotary). After high school, William will be attending the California Institute of Technology studying computer science.
