During the assembly, students and staff were greeted by the Watertown High School Drumline, Gus the Gosling, LOTS of cheering, and a new friend – Clark, the Webster Wildcat mascot generously donated by the Webster PTO.
Special attendees at the event included Mr. Clark’s extended family and close friends, many of whom introduced themselves with a greeting and short story about Mr. Clark while hidden from view. Mr. Clark had to guess who was speaking – this was great fun!
In addition to welcoming the surprise guests, Mr. Clark was presented with a commemorative gift from student representatives in each grade and the whole school sang a special song to Mr. Clark called “Remember Me.”
It was truly a memorable afternoon, and we wish you all the best in your retirement, Mr. Clark!
The Watertown Unified School District extends its sincere appreciation to all staff members retiring this year. We thank them for their dedication to our schools, and for working so hard to make not only our classrooms, but our community, a better place.

The annual Art Walk organized by the Watertown Arts Council and the WUSD Art Department returns to downtown Watertown on Wednesday, May 27 from 4-6 p.m.! This fun, family-friendly event showcases student artwork from across the district, as well as professional pieces created by local artists, in dozens of storefronts downtown. In addition, community members are invited to "Chalk the Walk" by creating chalk art along Main Street sidewalks the day of the event.

The Watertown Unified School District is seeking students who will be 3-years-old as of Sept. 1, 2026 to join our Little Goslings Peer Model Program.
This play-based program is designed around the routines, needs, and social skills of our youngest learners with learning delays. As part of the program we seek Peer Models, same aged peers who display strong social skills, communication, and are toilet trained, to join our class. Peer Models help support an inclusive setting for all learners while participating in creative activities, strengthening school readiness and communication skills, and fostering relationships.
The next Peer Model screening will take place Wednesday, May 27 from 10-11 a.m. at Douglas Elementary School. To register your child for a screening or to learn more, contact WUSD Special Education Program Manager Rebekah Faas at faasr@mywusd.org or visit https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSeyPrCtYpw16s8f1tc_Lj9tmgz0B8Td94grJXLWax4VcE63tw/viewform.
