Community Survey Report

Dear Members of our Watertown Community,

Thank you for your support of the Watertown Unified School District, and thank you to the many area residents who filled out our recent School Perceptions community survey.

On Monday, Dec. 1, 2025 representatives from School Perceptions gave a presentation to the WUSD Board of Education regarding the results of the survey. The Board held a thoughtful and robust conversation about what the data means for our district, including discussion of a possible April 2026 operational referendum.

The Board will continue the discussion of the community survey results on the evening of Dec. 10, 2025 with a goal of determining if the district will seek an operational referendum. Discussion regarding the potential operational referendum tax impact will also be an agenda item at the Board’s regular monthly meeting on Monday, Dec. 15, 2025. The Board must decide whether it will seek a referendum no later than Jan. 27, 2026.

We encourage all of you to stay engaged regarding this important issue. Please contact me or any of our board members with questions you may have. Your questions and feedback help guide our decision-making. To view the results of the community survey, please visit https://www.watertown.k12.wi.us/page/spring-referendum.

Thank you to our students, parents, staff, and community members for your ongoing support. Our district grows stronger because we value our tradition of great schools and continue our work to embrace the innovation and transformation needed to guide our students into a bright and successful future.

Dr. Jarred Burke
