Jessica Scherer is the newest addition to the Watertown High School administrative team. She comes to us from Kettle Moraine High School where she served as a Special Education teacher, Lead Teacher of Literacy, and Instructional Coach over the last 7 years. Before joining the team at Kettle Moraine, Jessica spent 11 years as a Special Education and Reading teacher in the School District of Cudahy. Jessica is a passionate advocate for students, disciplinary literacy and student-centered learning opportunities.
Jessica earned her Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2000, and immediately began her career as a Special Education teacher in the School District of Cudahy. In 2006, she earned a Masters degree in Special Education from University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. When she realized that most of her students were reading far below grade level, she pursued a Reading certification from Concordia University, graduating in 2010. She was then able to assist in the development of RTI structures to support students and help teachers use literacy strategies in all classrooms. Jessica earned her Masters in Educational Leadership from American College of Education in 2016.
Jessica lives with her husband and two children, Jacob (14) and Jilly (6). She also enjoys reading, boating, traveling to the Northwoods, and is an avid hockey mom.
