Emily Lessner graduated from Luther College in 2003 with a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education. She earned her Master’s Degree in Education - Professional Development from UW - La Crosse in 2006 and completed coursework for principal licensure through UW-Milwaukee's Administrative Leadership program in 2014.
Emily began teaching in Watertown as a long-term substitute in the Spring of 2004. She was then hired as an elementary teacher. Over the course of her teaching career, Emily taught both fourth and fifth grade, most recently teaching fifth grade at Douglas Elementary School. While teaching, Emily served on various district teams and committees. She also was a team leader at Douglas. She is proud to have been a teacher in the community, and Emily is honored to be working with Watertown families and the Douglas staff in an administrative role.
When not at school, Emily enjoys spending time with her family. She and her husband are both Watertown High School graduates, and they now have two children. Emily is also an avid reader and home cook. Emily Lessner is passionate about education and collaborating with staff and families to provide a safe, productive, and positive learning environment for the Douglas Tigers.
