Dear Parents, Families and Students, Friends and Neighbors,
It is hard to believe that the holiday season is fast approaching - especially with the beautiful autumn weather we have been enjoying. We have many great events coming up in the WUSD and hope to see you at our holiday concerts and performances.
We are excited to be pursuing some new educational options at the WUSD for our elementary students. As many of you may know, we have opportunities for project-based learning at both WHS through Endeavor High School and RMS through the Riverside Science Academy, and we are excited to be looking at offering a similar opportunity for our elementary students. We are currently in the planning stages, but we hope to be offering a Science Technology Engineering and Math (STEM)/project-based learning opportunity at one of our elementary sites. We will work to keep our families informed as the Board and administration seek feedback and work to create a plan that will best serve our students and families.
In November, we celebrate American Education Week. This week focuses attention on the importance of providing every child in America with an excellent educational experience. In Watertown, we are fortunate to have a community that supports education for our children, a dedicated and talented team of teachers and support staff, and outstanding students. I want to again extend my gratitude to the community and parents in Watertown who support our work for students.
The Watertown Unified School District is committed to our vision of Excellence for All. We believe we can lead the state in our efforts to reach the learning needs of every child, develop people and partnerships, and lead through innovative practices and leadership. We believe that the WUSD is a destination district in the state of Wisconsin, and we plan to build on our reputation as an innovator in education and a great place to live and work and go to school!
It's the Watertown Way! #watertownway
