Andrew Bare - Schurz School Principal

2015/2016 will be my 18th year as proud principal of Schurz School.  Before coming to Schurz, I was the assistant principal at Riverside Middle School, and before that, I taught 6th grade at RMS.

My wife, Liz, and I have two beautiful daughters, and two grandsons.  We live in Jefferson, where we both were born, went to grade school and high school.

I received my teaching degree from UW-Whitewater, and my administrator's degree from UW-Madison.

Emily Lessner - Douglas School Principal

Emily Lessner graduated from Luther College in 2003 with a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education. She earned her Master’s Degree in Education - Professional Development from UW - La Crosse in 2006 and completed coursework for principal licensure through UW-Milwaukee's Administrative Leadership program in 2014.

Emily began teaching in Watertown as a long-term substitute in the Spring of 2004. She was then hired as an elementary teacher. Over the course of her teaching career, Emily taught both fourth and fifth grade, most recently teaching fifth grade at Douglas Elementary School. While teaching, Emily served on various district teams and committees. She also was a team leader at Douglas. She is proud to have been a teacher in the community, and Emily is honored to be working with Watertown families and the Douglas staff in an administrative role.

When not at school, Emily enjoys spending time with her family. She and her husband are both Watertown High School graduates, and they now have two children. Emily is also an avid reader and home cook. Emily Lessner is passionate about education and collaborating with staff and families to provide a safe, productive, and positive learning environment for the Douglas Tigers.

Brad Clark - Webster School Principal

Brad Clark graduated from U.W. - Whitewater in 1992 with a degree in Elementary Education. Brad earned his Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership in 2000, from Marian University in Fond du Lac.

Brad’s entire education career has been with the Watertown School District. Brad was hired as a long term substitute teacher for fourth grade at Schurz Elementary School in 1994. He then transferred to Lebanon School teaching fourth and fifth grades in a combined classroom for four years. In 1998, Brad transferred to Webster School to teach fourth grade for two years and fifth grade for two years.

In 2002, Brad began his administrative career as the Assistant Principal of Riverside Middle School. He remained at the middle school for two years until 2004 when he was hired as principal at Webster School.

Webster School is very important to Brad. He not only taught at Webster but as a child attended Webster from kindergarten through sixth grade. Both of his children attended Webster and his wife has also taught at Webster School. He works hard to make sure all of Webster’s students get a great education.

Kent Jacobson - Lebanon/Lincoln School Principal - Summer School Coordinator

Kent Jacobson is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire where he majored in Elementary Education with a Vocal Music minor. After teaching fourth grade and coaching multiple sports for two years in Onalaska, Wisconsin, he moved to Florida and taught at Madeira Beach Elementary School for six years. He attended the University of South Florida – Tampa and received his Masters in Educational Leadership.

Eager to return to Wisconsin, Kent began his administrative career in the Watertown Unified School District as principal of Douglas Elementary School in 1992. After four years in that position he transferred to Riverside Middle School where he is currently the Middle School principal.

Kent’s focus in educational leadership is designing a comprehensive program for middle school students. He stresses relationship building, character education and life long learning. He encourages students to take an active role in their own development as well rounded individuals.
