Jazz Ensemble I consists of students who have demonstrated moderate to advanced musical skills and jazz technique.
Jazz Ensemble II consists of students who have demonstrated basic to moderate musical skills and jazz technique. Students in this ensemble normally have not experienced jazz performance or are in the early stages of learning about jazz styles.
Jazz Ensemble I, II, and Jazz Combo are open to grades 9-12 by audition.
Jazz/Dixieland Combo meets Monday evenings or other pre-arranged times and performs numerous community outreach programs. The ensemble performs various styles of jazz based on student interest. The nature of this type of jazz group allows for creative instrumentation. The Dixieland Combo uses instrumentation based on historical research.
Show Choir Band is an every year activity. The band accompanies the Show Choir during March and early April.. The instrumentation is very similar to a jazz combo and students are invited to participate based on instrumentation and level of playing ability. Students will have to perform three to four Saturday show choir festivals and possibly a short weekend trip.
